Our rider Tomas had some rides with the new Bmx Astron 2012 from Radio.
One team from WTP wanting to break out of the mold, one highly attractive price range, some com- plete bikes of significant quality and Morgan Wade at the top of the list . That’s the recipe for Radio, the young brand that has only one goal in mind, to get you on two wheels rather than watching them ontheTV .
This year, Radio has put together a little low-cost gem for us with the sweet name of Astron . Although it has finishes that are sometimes a bit rough, colours that will leave some pale, an unfortunately inad- equate brake cover and brake pads which detonate on contact with the anodized rim; nonetheless, you can- not ignore its sporty and perfectly responsive design, a crown worthy of its name, a seat which is more than just a decoration and brake jaws in CNC aluminum .
At just over 11 kg, it is direct compe- tition for other brands but has a distinctive style . Are you wild about big tires, want to tear down the slopes in comfort and love to wake up the whole neighbourhood with a single flick of your right index finger? Then look no further than Astron in your starry low-budget dreams .
In conclusion, it’s a bike with versa- tile geometry in disciplines that needs to make a few more BMX fans than it has now, it has well-distrib- uted weight and good quality parts on the whole .
